Let me introduce myself.
I'm Dean
Corcoran, an IT professional living in Sydney Australia. During my time
as an IT professional I have had exposure to many facets of the IT
community and those people who are exposed to the technologies I
administer and use myself every day. One thing has really stood out to
me in this time, the level of understanding and degrees of perspective
people have about those products that are more and more becoming part
of our lives, whether we like it or not.
This website is about providing people with level headed and non
'fanboy' biased information on IT products and related technologies. I
am quite an ethically inspired person and if there is any bias, it is
based on my ethical perspective on what is right for the common good.
In this website I attempt to provide great resources for people with
all levels of exposure to IT, from users to architects.
I have been an IT professional since the early 1990's. Initially I was a developer
before moving into what is now known as 'IT Pro' style roles.
My IT Pro life started out with administering UNIX based systems.
However these days my technical exposure is deeply grained around Microsoft Technologies
and I have the certifications to match. MCP, MCSE, MCT, MCSA, MCITP:EA,
MCDBA, MCTS and also certifications from other vendors such as
Checkpoint CCSE and CCSA among others.
I currently contract my services to a number of professional IT companies
through by organisation Bitricity.
My largest client is Microsoft, providing them with training and consultation solutions for their partners.
Welcome to my site... the Pokey Stuff..
